For Sponsors

What you do makes a difference

Sponsors transform orphans’ lives. God’s agents of change in this world - disguised as sponsors - are used to provide food, shelter, clothing, clean water, medical treatment, and education to orphans with no other hope for the future. All of that impact for just $1 a day.

Sponsor FAQ

When will I receive my tax-exempt contribution receipt?

We send these receipts at the beginning of each calendar year, typically by the end of January.

Things you should know

Student Attrition

We at LoveGrows are obsessive about maintaining accurate sponsor, financial and student records. Sponsors and finances are easy enough – they don’t change much and are totally within our control.

Students are entirely different. Uganda is an unpredictable place, and so are the people who live there. Sometimes a student will leave the Royal School, and while we can sometimes get an explanation as to where they went and why, we don't have any control over the situation. In the event that your sponsored student leaves the Royal School, we ask that you extend grace as we partner with you to understand each individual case.

The word “orphan”

We didn’t know it at first, but we’ve found that Ugandans sometimes use the word “orphan” differently than we do. Our strict definition is a child without a mother or father. In Uganda, it can mean a child with one or even two living parents that are destitute and unable to care for them.

Sharing the wealth

We will never refuse to feed a student because they don't have a sponsor, so donations are spread as thinly as necessary for everyone to survive. Rather than feeding and educating your child alone, your sponsor contribution might be supporting 3 or more students.
